How to request deletion

Email [email protected] from the address you contacted us with, or send us a direct message from the account in question, and ask us to delete your data. Tell us the Instagram username you used if you contacted us there, so we can find the right records.

We action deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by reply when it is done. There is no charge, and you do not need an account with us to ask.

What we delete

If you have interacted with our Instagram accounts, we may hold:

• · A platform-scoped user identifier provided by Meta, which we use to avoid messaging you more than once about the same thing.
• · A record that an interaction happened, when, on which post, and which topic it related to.
• · Click records if you followed a link we sent: which link, which post it came from, the time, your browser type, and a salted, irreversible hash of your IP address. We do not store raw IP addresses.

On request we delete all of the above.

The one record we keep, and why

If you have opted out of our messages, we keep a minimal suppression record: the identifier, and the fact that you opted out. Nothing else.

We keep it because it is the only way to guarantee your opt-out is honoured. If we deleted it, our systems would no longer know you had asked us to stop, and a future interaction could start the process again. If you would rather we delete that record too, tell us and we will, but understand it removes the protection.

Data held by Meta

This page covers data held by us. Comments and messages also exist inside Instagram, and those are controlled by Meta rather than by us. To remove them there, delete the comment or message inside Instagram, or use Meta's own account and data controls.

You can also disconnect our app from your Instagram account at any time: Instagram, Settings and activity, Apps and websites. That stops any further data reaching us.

Other rights

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, port, or restrict use of your data, and to object to processing. Those are described in our Privacy Policy, and the same email address handles them.
